for me, beauty is the acceptance of one's self as a whole
i love the idea that portraiture can reveal a person's inner self worth and sense of beauty
i'm tired of the archetype of beauty in today's society
it is prevalent in all aspects of our culture
beating a dead horse, i know
but meeting the characters i've met on this part of my journey has made me aware
aware that this isn't going away
no matter how much we think we are more accepting
all i'm trying to do is show a different perception of beauty
not only in skin color and weight but in energy
attitude and exuberance
i feel these portraits are a testament to my personal exploration
a discovery of beauty in places i've always overlooked
